Staff of the second Black Clover anime season announced a new promotional video that reveals WANIMA's opening theme Kienai Riyū, which debuted at Anime Expo on Saturday and will precede the series' October television debut on TV Tokyo. The anime, based on Yūki Tabata's manga, originally premiered in Japan in October 2017 and concluded its first run with episode 170 in March 2021. Ayataka Tanemura, who directed episodes 153‑170 of the first series and the 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, will direct the new season, and voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara, who voices protagonist Asta, attended the expo with him. Studio Pierrot will animate the upcoming season, and Crunchyroll will stream the series with Japanese audio and English subtitles, while also providing the English dub. The manga continues in the quarterly Jump Giga magazine after moving from Weekly Shonen Jump in 2023, with Viz Media handling digital and print releases and Shueisha's MANGA Plus offering digital distribution. The series previously aired on Adult Swim's Toonami block in December 2017. The new season will begin airing in October, continuing the series after a three‑year hiatus and featuring the opening theme performed by the rock band WANIMA.
