Crunchyroll announced the reveal of character and group visuals for the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime series on July 5, with a 2027 exclusive debut on its streaming platform.
Takanobu Mizuno, director of the Star Wars: Visions short "The Duel," will direct the series, while Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi write the script and Urobuchi also handles story composition. Takashi Okazaki serves as character designer, and HAYATE Inc. oversees production, with Aniplex and Sony Music listed as collaborators.
The visuals show the Ronin, Hunter and Assassin characters and a combined group image, credited to P2©GoTLAC / SIE and the Sucker Punch Productions Twitter account. Ghost of Tsushima launched on PlayStation 4 in July 2020, followed by PlayStation 5 in August 2021 and PC in May 2024; its multiplayer mode, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, became available separately in September 2021 and focuses on Japanese folklore rather than the original game’s historical setting. A sequel titled Ghost of Yōtei was released in October 2025, set in 1603 Hokkaido.
The anime is scheduled for a 2027 release, but no further production or broadcast details have been disclosed.
