Matic will raise the price of its robot vacuum and mop from $1,245 to $1,495 on September 9. The increase of $250 reflects higher costs for memory and other components, which the company says have risen tenfold. Purchasers buying directly from Matic will receive a year’s supply of replacement bags, valued at $96, at no additional cost; each refill contains 12 bags and shipping is free. The company has extended its return policy from 60 days to six months. A review by Jennifer Pattison Tuohy noted that the device showed reliable human‑like navigation, became stuck twice during six months of use, and performed well in a three‑story home with pets, thick rugs, and high transitions, delivering strong suction, a self‑cleaning roller mop, continuous cleaning even when the water tank is low, quiet operation, and minimal maintenance. The unit carries its own water tank and stores dirty water in a disposable bag, allowing the user to empty the reservoir manually; it can also drive itself to a sink for refilling. Unlike many competing models, it can operate entirely offline, with maps and data stored locally rather than in the cloud.
