At least seven people were killed and 24 were wounded in a Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv early Monday, authorities said.
The assault involved waves of ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones that struck residential buildings in the Podilskyi and Darnytsia districts, causing a partial collapse of a building and damaging several multistory structures, with some individuals believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned hours earlier that another large-scale attack was imminent and renewed calls for Western partners to supply additional Patriot air‑defense missiles, saying that any delay could embolden Russia in its four‑year war.
The attack follows a similar strike last week that killed at least 31 people, highlighting the continuing threat to civilian infrastructure in the capital.
