Intel is reportedly preparing two mid‑range 22‑core desktop processors codenamed Nova Lake‑S, according to KitGuru. The chips are said to feature a combined 108 MB of last‑level cache and to use a single compute‑die design, as reported by VideoCardz. Both would belong to the Core Ultra 5 400S family. One model is reported to be unlocked with a 125 W TDP, while the other is locked at 65 W. Each would include six “Coyote Cove” performance cores, twelve “Arctic Wolf” efficiency cores and four low‑power efficiency cores. Intel aims to reduce latency in gaming workloads by increasing cache size, a strategy also employed by AMD’s Ryzen X3D CPUs. The designs are expected to support the upcoming LGA‑1954 socket, which can accommodate up to 52 cores. Early rumors suggest that high‑performance variants could draw around 474 W in PL2 mode. No official release date or pricing has been announced.
