Franklin Crypto aims to build a leading fundamental crypto investment platform after Franklin Templeton's acquisition of 250 Digital, a firm that emerged from CoinFund's liquid investment business. He said venture capital remains a natural fit for institutional allocators and that current market conditions make liquid crypto investments more viable. Ginns cited several developments that could attract more institutional capital, including Robinhood's blockchain initiative, growing interest in tokenized money market funds, tokenized equities, stablecoin adoption, and broader financial infrastructure. He added that an upcoming Senate vote on the CLARITY Act may provide regulatory certainty for digital assets. He expects projects to improve token value capture through stronger tokenomics, noting Hyperliquid's revenue-driven token buyback model as an example. Ginns highlighted Uniswap, Aave, and Chainlink as protocols that could benefit from improved token economics, and said Stellar's efforts to deepen institutional engagement are notable among blockchain infrastructure projects. He believes established crypto projects may regain investor attention as they rethink their token models.
