Bitcoin fell about 18% to near $52,900, a level that analysts consider a key support test after sellers showed signs of fatigue. The recent buyer cost basis stands near $69,000, while the realized price, based on on‑chain data, is about $52,891. A sustained move above $69,000 would indicate a higher low, whereas a break below $52,891 could expose the broader market to net unrealized loss. Glassnode reported that long‑term holder loss realization accounted for 43% of total realized value on July 8, and its entity‑adjusted long‑term‑holder realized‑loss series turned down for the first time since its cycle peak. The entity‑adjusted series had peaked near $280 million per day, the highest reading since December 2022. Spot Bitcoin ETFs returned to net inflows in early July, according to a Glassnode market pulse dated July 13, though weekly data showed redemptions slowing and inflows remaining limited. Trading volume contracted and spot cumulative volume delta turned negative during the recovery, the same report noted. The market now appears to be in a phase where sellers are easing before buyers have fully arrived, leaving the possibility of a higher low contingent on price and demand confirmation. Whether Bitcoin can hold above the recent buyer cost basis will determine if the market stabilizes or resumes decline.
