Bending Spoons announced Tuesday that it will acquire Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash. The deal marks the company’s first acquisition since its July initial public offering. Airtable was founded in 2013 and has raised more than $1.4 billion across multiple funding rounds. The company reached a valuation of over $11 billion at its 2021 peak, while secondary‑market estimates this year placed its value at about $4 billion and its current net cash position at $2.25 billion. Airtable serves approximately 500,000 organizations, about 80 % of the Fortune 100, and recently launched a product called Superagent that coordinates AI agents. Luca Ferrari, founder of Bending Spoons, said the acquisition will accelerate innovation and support Airtable’s growth. The company reported annual recurring revenue of roughly $480 million as of June 2026. Bending Spoons, which went public at an $18 billion valuation, has a track record of buying companies at discounts to their private valuations, reducing staff and streamlining products to improve profitability. Its previous acquisitions include Evernote, WeTransfer, EventBrite and Vimeo. The transaction is expected to close later this year pending regulatory review and will combine Bending Spoons’ resources with Airtable’s data‑organization platform.
