Nvidia‑led Open Secure AI Alliance, which now comprises more than 120 companies, has formed a working group named the Shared AI Findings Exchange to develop proposals for reporting and analyzing AI security incidents. The group met at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas this week while members discussed how to share open source tools that could help enterprises secure AI agents. Members presented draft guidelines that call for confidential incident reporting, notification of affected parties, and blame‑free analysis for learning. The Linux Foundation, a participating organization, will manage the public comment process. Contributing companies are providing open source components. Nvidia offers a family of open models and the Garak vulnerability scanner. Okta is developing agent identity technology. Red Hat is building agent governance tools. Amazon has released Strands Agents, an open agent building tool, and Cedar, an authorization language. The alliance includes Adobe, BlackRock, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft and Visa. Notable companies absent from the roster are Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. OpenAI and Google had signed the original open letter that prompted the alliance, urging the White House to support open source AI. Both companies have also released open weight models. Their participation remains uncertain as the group expands. Formation of the alliance follows industry concern after the Trump administration explored a ban on Chinese open weight AI models, which led to the open letter. Some analysts say openness may improve AI safety. The group says it will translate its commitments into action. The effectiveness of the shared approach will depend on participation from all major AI developers.
