Genki has launched the Manta, a wireless controller featuring a 2.9‑inch screen and adjustable buttons, through a Kickstarter campaign.

The company previously collaborated with 8BitDo on a gamepad two years ago and has funded eight other hardware projects via crowdfunding.

Genki designed the Manta entirely in‑house, positioning the thumbsticks and face buttons above the screen.

The layout makes the controller appear bulkier than standard designs.

Customization options are accessed via the screen and physical controls, allowing users to modify thumbstick response, dead zones, haptic feedback intensity, and button mappings.

Multiple console, game, and user profiles can be saved and switched on the fly.

The face buttons are analog and their travel depth can be set to adjust sensitivity.

Linear magnetic ram motors in the grips deliver haptic feedback, and drift‑resistant tunneling magnetoresistance thumbsticks provide adjustable tension.

The device includes a 2,600mAh user‑replaceable battery.

Six additional remappable buttons are located on the back and shoulders.

A dedicated button enables switching to keyboard and mouse mode for web browsing.

Connectivity is available via Bluetooth, a 2.4GHz dongle for low‑latency wired use, or a USB‑C cable for direct console connection.

The Manta features a tristage trigger system that adds a middle travel distance for rapid repeated presses, complementing the two‑stage modes found on many higher‑end controllers.

The Kickstarter page lists a discounted preorder price of $189 for early backers and a full retail price of $279.

Genki reports a history of fulfilling Kickstarter orders successfully.
