Netflix confirmed that Blue Eye Samurai will return for its final season, announced at Anime NYC on August 20, 2026. Season two is scheduled for release in January 2027, and a 90‑second teaser was released the same day. The final season is already in production.

The animated revenge thriller debuted in November 2023. Its first two seasons have been delayed, leaving fans waiting nearly three years for the story to continue.

The teaser shows Mizu steering a ship through a storm, reaffirming her quest for revenge after a confrontation with arms dealer Abijah Fowler, who offers to help her travel to London to find two surviving white men who may be her father. In the footage, Mizu wakes on deck with a sword pointed at her, presumably held by Fowler, who appears to have been released from custody. Earlier scenes from the season one finale and the Annecy Festival show Fowler and Mizu interacting amicably in Europe.

Supporting characters include apprentice Ringo, who is seeking a new purpose, and Princess Akemi, who navigates royal politics following the death of the Shogun. Netflix stated that the final season will conclude Mizu’s story, though no specific release date has been provided.
