France and Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that they will build a $7 billion Dragon Ball Z theme park northwest of Paris near Cergy-Pontoise. The announcement came during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Paris, where he and President Emmanuel Macron discussed the anime franchise. The project, led by Qiddiya, is expected to create about 22,000 jobs and will feature seven recreations of locations from the series, including the Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’s Planet, as well as more than 30 attractions and a 70‑meter statue of Shenron. Construction is projected to take several years, and no opening date has been set. The initiative follows Saudi Arabia’s broader investments in gaming and entertainment, including its $55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts, a 10% stake in Capcom, and its full ownership of the Evo fighting game tournament series. It also follows the relocation of the Esports World Cup to Paris over security concerns in Riyadh. The park’s opening timeline remains unspecified.
