Roblox game 'Steal an Egg' reached the No. 1 spot on the platform before being removed on Aug. 24, 2026. The game had more than 500,000 concurrent players and generated about 1.3 million views on a YouTube video that demonstrated its speed mechanic.

Players collect eggs that hatch into pets which earn money per second. Rarer pets earn more. Players can purchase speed upgrades with real money or by using a treadmill that includes a Reels feature for watching videos.

Users described the treadmill mechanic as dystopian and likened it to the Netflix Black Mirror episode 'Fifteen Million Merits.' Screenshots of the treadmill and Reels feature circulated on social media, drawing negative reactions. The game was delisted shortly after reaching the top rank, and the developer posted on Discord that the game would return within a few hours.

Roblox did not respond to a request for comment. The developer did not provide a detailed reason for the removal, and the platform's policies prohibit sharing links to TikTok or Instagram Reels, which may have been a factor.

The removal leaves the game's availability unresolved, and it is unclear whether the issue will be addressed before a later reinstatement.
