Civil servants were sworn in at NASA’s Ames Research Center on August 24, 2026, during the largest swearing‑in ceremony the center has held in its nearly 87‑year history.

The ceremony took place in the National Full‑Scale Aerodynamics Complex’s 80‑by‑120‑foot test section (N221) in California’s Silicon Valley. NASA Ames, established in 1939, conducts research in aeronautics, space exploration, and Earth science.

The event included new civil servants and invited guests, along with NASA and center leadership, who presided over the oath‑taking. After the ceremony, the group posed for a photo, as credited to Brandon Torres Navarrete.

The ceremony highlights NASA’s continued recruitment efforts and its ongoing mission to advance scientific and technological knowledge.
