Fashion startup Atorie announced a $9.5 million seed round on Thursday, with investors including a16z speedrun, Night Capital and Lightspeed Ventures partner Jeremy Liew. The company says its products are made from the same materials and in the same factories as luxury brands, offering items at lower price points. Ramdani, who previously founded the creator platform Snipfeed before its 2024 acquisition, said the items are not counterfeit copies but use the same craftsmanship. He described the business model as slow, distinct from fast fashion. He explained that luxury factories have begun to develop their own designs and manage smaller production runs, reducing reliance on a few large brands. AI tools analyze trends, forecast demand and predict material shortages, helping factories diversify their customer base. On the consumer side, an AI agent on the website can suggest outfits and learn shopper habits. The company reported $5 million in sales last year and projects an annualized run rate above $55 million this year. The fresh funding will support logistics, AI development and production, and the launch of an in‑house clothing line. Atorie plans to work with creators and influencers to enable them to launch their own lines quickly. The company aims to provide high‑quality items at affordable prices, positioning itself as an alternative to Zara and other fast‑fashion retailers.
