Governor Ron DeSantis reappointed John “Cole” Oliver and Janet Price to the St. Johns River Water Management District Board of Directors.
The district oversees water and environmental regulation across 18 counties that include the St. Johns River from the Treasure Coast to the Georgia border. The board consists of nine members appointed by the governor and serves without pay on four-year terms.
Oliver, a lawyer and partner at the Lowndes Law Firm, previously served as the board’s treasurer. He holds a law degree from the University of Florida, a bachelor’s degree in history from Washington & Lee University and a master’s in finance from Louisiana State University. He also serves on the Cypress Bank and Trust Board, the Brevard County Charter Review Commission and the Canaveral Port Charter Review Commission.
Price, a resident of Fernandina Beach, is retired but remains active in environmental affairs. She worked as a senior manager of environmental affairs for Rayonier Inc. and chaired the Aquatic Biology Committee of the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Alabama and a master’s in aquatic biology from the University of Alabama.
The Florida Senate must still confirm both appointments. The reappointments are pending Senate action.
