The manga series Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life will end after three chapters, the final chapter appearing in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine on September 4. The story follows Takezō, the sole remaining member of a traditional koto club, which faces termination if he cannot recruit new members. A delinquent student named Chika Kudō enters the clubroom and demands to join. Amyū announced the conclusion on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday. The series began in August 2012 in Jump SQ., and Shueisha released its 34th compiled volume on June 4. The manga inspired a television anime that aired on Tokyo MX, BS11, and WOWOW beginning in April 2019, running for two cours, and also led to a stage play staged from August to September 2019. The series' ending leaves the fate of the koto club unresolved.
