Real Trump Coins denied launching the Trump Digital GOLD token after it briefly appeared on its X account and website on Saturday.
The Solana‑based token was promoted by the Real Trump Coins X account, which posted a link to RealTrumpCoins.com where the GOLD token was advertised. The X posts were later deleted, and the account now links to TrumpCoins.com, though it continued to direct users to RealTrumpCoins.com as recently as Aug. 25.
The platform’s statement on X read, “Trump Coins has not authorized and will not launch, promote, or authorize any digital token,” and said it was working with authorities to investigate. Lookonchain reported that the token’s developer and newly created wallets held 82.45% of the supply. Fifteen wallets linked to the team sold their holdings for about $330,000, netting an estimated $312,000 profit. Crypto observers noted confusion over how the X account and the domain could both be compromised. Real Trump Coins’ X bio linked to TrumpCoins.com, and the account remained followed by Donald Trump, who follows 53 accounts on the platform. The website RealTrumpCoins.com still displayed the GOLD promotion at the time of publication.
The situation remains under investigation, with no indication of an official launch.
