FX's upcoming anthology series Far Cry, inspired by Ubisoft's video game franchise, has expanded its cast ahead of production. Oscar-nominated actors Jennifer Jason Leigh and Brendan Gleeson have joined the project, alongside Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou. The series is being developed by showrunners Noah Hawley and Rob Mac, who are also known for their work on Fargo and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Previous announcements had included Mac, Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi in the lineup. Each season of the anthology will present a distinct narrative, setting, and ensemble of characters, with no release date confirmed at this time. The franchise's most recent game, Far Cry 6, launched in 2021 and received an 8/10 rating from IGN. Ubisoft's recent television ventures, including the animated Splinter Cell: Deathwatch on Netflix, have also garnered positive attention.
