Kadokawa unveiled a teaser video for the second season of the anime adaptation of the light novel series Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian during the KyoMAF event on Sunday. The franchise has circulated 5.5 million copies worldwide, including digital sales. The second season was originally scheduled for 2024 but has been delayed to 2027 to allow additional production time. Hiroshi Haraguchi, who directed episode 4 of the first season, will direct the new season at Dōga Kōbō, replacing Ryota Itoh. Yuka Yamada, formerly the scriptwriter for episode 6 of the first season, now oversees the series scripts in Itoh's former role. Yūhei Murota continues as character designer, while Seong Min Kim serves as assistant director. The new season will continue the story from the fourth volume of the light novel. The first season premiered in July 2024 with 12 episodes and was streamed globally by Crunchyroll, which also offers an English dub. Yen Press publishes the novels in English under its Sneaker Bunko imprint. The original manga adaptation, launched by Saho Tenamachi in October 2022 on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app, is also distributed in English by Yen Press and K MANGA. Kadokawa World Entertainment, a subsidiary of Kadokawa Corporation, holds a majority stake in Anime News Network, LLC.
