Turtle Beach announced the Vulcan II XP Air wireless mechanical gaming keyboard and its wired counterpart, the Vulcan II XP, on Tuesday. Both models feature low‑profile designs, hot‑swappable switches and sound‑dampening materials intended to reduce audible clicks. The wireless version provides tri‑mode connectivity through 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB‑A connections, and a 6000 mAh battery that can sustain up to 95 hours of operation with RGB lighting active or extend to roughly 2000 hours when lighting and sensors are disabled. An integrated AirTrack gesture sensor enables touch‑free hand movements for media control and automatically dims the lighting when the user leaves the desk. The wired Vulcan II XP omits wireless components and gesture tracking but offers interchangeable Titan HS Red linear or Brown tactile switches rated for 50 million actuations. Both keyboards support full NKRO, anti‑ghosting, ReacTap SOCD functionality, Easy‑Shift[+] key mapping, a multi‑function media wheel and onboard profile storage via Swarm II software. The wired model is offered in black or white. Pricing is set at $199.99 / €179.99 / £169.99 for the wireless version and $149.99 / €129.99 / £119.99 for the wired version, with pre‑orders open ahead of an October release. A KitGuru inquiry asked whether gesture controls might become a core feature of future gaming peripherals.
