Dan Green, a Republican candidate for Florida’s 9th Congressional District, references his work at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, in a new campaign advertisement. He states he was present in the building when American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and crashed into the structure, killing 184 people, including 59 passengers and crew and 125 Pentagon employees. Green describes witnessing what he calls real courage that day and says it shaped his decision to serve in the U.S. Navy. He later joined the Pentagon staff as a civilian policy worker and, in 2019, was appointed by President Donald Trump as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Force Development. Now, Green is running for Congress, challenging U.S. Representative Darren Soto, a Democrat from Kissimmee. His campaign has been supported by the National Republican Congressional Committee’s MAGA Majority program, and he secured the Republican primary victory in August. The campaign’s latest advertisement, titled “Courage,” connects his experience to broader themes of service and economic priorities, including reducing prices and managing development. The ad is being broadcast across the district as part of his outreach effort.
