Arc System Works announced that its fighting game Blazblue: CentralFiction will receive a PlayStation 5 version.
Arc System Works announced that its fighting game Blazblue: CentralFiction will receive a PlayStation 5 version. The new edition will feature rollback netcode, cross-play with PC, and four additional text languages: French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Training Mode will also receive new features.
The announcement came via the company's European social media account on Saturday. A teaser tweet highlighted the upcoming rollback netcode implementation, cross-play capability, expanded language support, and updated Training Mode tools. The post used hashtags related to the game and indicated further details would follow.
Arc System Works America later confirmed that the PS5 release will arrive after the "TRINITY -PHASE 3-" update completes. This follows earlier teasing of downloadable content during the EVO 2026 event in June. At that time, the company revealed Trinity Glassfille as the first new playable character added since Jubei's debut in 2017.
Trinity Glassfille will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game. The June announcement did not specify availability for arcade, PlayStation 3, or Nintendo Switch platforms.
Blazblue: CentralFiction first appeared in Japanese arcades in November 2015. It later launched on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in October 2016. Aksys Games brought the title to North America in November 2016. A Switch version followed in February 2019.
Separately, the side-scrolling roguelite BlazBlue Entropy Effect entered early access on Steam in August 2023. Its full release arrived in January 2024 for PC via Steam. The X version of the game launched on PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S on February 12.
Information in the announcement was sourced from Arc System Works Europe and Arc System Works America social media posts, as referenced by Gematsu.
