A New York City robotics studio has begun accepting reservations for Voxel, a bipedal robot designed to perform household tasks. Tuesday Labs, the company behind the project, offers the Series-1 model for $200 upfront, with full pricing projected at approximately $20,000 and shipments expected in 2028.
The robot features articulated arms with seven degrees of freedom and simplified grippers, enabling it to handle objects such as books or kitchen utensils. Its mobility system uses Z-shaped legs that bend in reverse at the knees, allowing it to adjust height and maintain balance near furniture. Vision systems include stereo RGB cameras and a wide-field camera for room monitoring.
According to Tuesday Labs, Voxel can autonomously organize spaces, water plants, and locate misplaced items by referencing its memory of last known positions. The company emphasizes capabilities like retrieving objects or assisting with routine chores, though it does not claim advanced functions such as meal preparation or childcare. The robot’s design places its visual sensors near the waist, while animated eyes on the torso provide visual feedback.
Preorders are currently limited to the Series-1 configuration. Interested buyers can secure a unit through the company’s reservation system, with final pricing and delivery timelines subject to change based on development progress.
