eToro led a $12.5 million funding round for Extended, an onchain perpetual futures exchange founded by former Revolut crypto head Ruslan Fakhrutdinov. The company plans to integrate Extended's perpetual futures engine into its Zengo self‑custody wallet. The investment follows eToro's April acquisition of Zengo for $70 million. It is part of a strategy to add decentralized finance products for its users. Elad Lavi, eToro's executive vice president of corporate development and strategy, said the funding aligns with growing user demand for seamless DeFi access. Robinhood announced a new blockchain and expanded its tokenized stock offerings. It also said it will extend perpetual futures trading into commodities such as gold and oil. The competition reflects a shift among digital brokerages toward blockchain‑based trading infrastructure. Extended processed more than $245 billion in trading volume as of June. It supports over 100 perpetual markets. The firm plans to add spot trading, tokenized real‑world assets and multi‑asset collateral. Analysts question how the integration will affect custody practices and regulatory compliance as onchain derivatives grow.
