SBI Crypto will shut down its Bitcoin mining pool on July 31, 2026, ending a service that represented about 2% of the Bitcoin network’s hashrate.
The pool, launched in 2021, was operated under SBI Group and contributed roughly 1.1 exahash per second of mining power, according to data from Hashrateindex.
Miners must redirect their hashing power before the cutoff, as the pool will stop accepting new contributions after July 31.
The company did not specify a reason for the closure in its notice, citing only broader market pressures.
Bitcoin mining margins have narrowed as the cryptocurrency’s price fell about 50% from its all‑time high reached in late 2025, and operational costs have risen.
The shutdown follows a series of pressures on miners, including volatile hashrate and a shift of some operators toward artificial intelligence infrastructure.
SBI Crypto was previously linked to a $21 million hack in 2025, though the firm said the incident was not cited as a factor in the pool’s termination.
The company urged miners to keep operating until the July 31 deadline to ensure their contributions are included in final payouts.
