ZTE published its 2025 sustainability report, reporting a 46% cut in carbon emissions and a 30% improvement in flagship phone battery life.

The company has been listed on the CDP A list for three consecutive years and has reported on sustainability for 18 years, using a double materiality assessment that weighs financial and social impacts.

ZTE’s Digital Green Path strategy targets science‑based goals across corporate operations, supply chain, digital infrastructure and industry empowerment.

The firm installed immersion liquid‑cooled datacenters at China Telecom’s Huailai Park, achieving a PUE of 1.15 and saving more than 1.1 million kWh annually.

Flagship mobile devices saw about a 30% longer battery life thanks to improved battery design, dynamic energy‑saving features and network search optimization.

Carbon purchases fell 16.3% since 2021, delivering nearly CNY100 million in cost savings, while energy efficiency rose 28.39% and absolute emissions dropped 46% with a 14.3% compound annual reduction.

Energy‑efficiency upgrades at the Shanghai R&D center increased plant efficiency by 46%, and product‑level carbon assessments covered more than 240 items.

Manufacturing energy use per unit fell 22.1% across five factories, and 20% of domestic last‑mile delivery employed new‑energy vehicles.

The report shows over 20,000 volunteers supported 89 public‑welfare projects in 15 countries, benefiting more than 100,000 people.

ZTE conducted ESG audits of 270 suppliers and trained 450 supplier representatives on carbon accounting and reduction.

Scope 1 and 2 emissions are projected to fall below 50% of 2021 levels by 2030, with a matching reduction in scope 3 and a 90% total emissions cut by 2050.

ZTE plans to use AI to accelerate green transformation, establish global AI footprint standards and expand renewable energy for computing systems.

Collective action across government, industry and other stakeholders will be required to meet the long‑term targets.
