Microsoft’s Copilot+ PCs require a neural processing unit that can perform at least 40 trillion operations per second. The NPU runs AI tasks locally, reducing cloud dependence, lowering power consumption, and extending battery life. Security is built in, with biometric sign‑in options such as fingerprint or facial recognition and support for using the device as a Passkey for websites and apps.

The on‑device AI enables features like Click to Do, which scans the screen for text, images or files and suggests actions such as summarizing a brief, translating content, or changing formatting without opening a separate application. Click to Do is activated by pressing the Windows key and clicking, or by using the Windows+Q shortcut.

Copilot Vision and Copilot Voice are integrated into Windows 11 and aim to simplify access to information. Vision can read text aloud, while Voice can answer questions, both intended to improve accessibility for all users.

Lloyd Coombes, a freelance writer who has contributed to technology and gaming outlets including Polygon, Eurogamer and TechRadar, reported on the product.
