The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime revealed during its Anime Expo panel on Friday that The Cure will perform the opening theme "10:15 Saturday Night" and that Watson will provide the ending theme. The first episode was screened with an English dub at the convention. The series is slated to premiere this fall on Netflix. The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime debuted on Netflix in September 2022 and is based on CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game. The new season will consist of ten episodes and will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, who previously served as a storyboard artist, animation director, animator, and prop designer for the first series. Producer and writer Bartosz Sztybor returns, and Ichigo Kanno serves as lead character designer. Masahiko Otsuka continues as scriptwriter. The staff described the show as a standalone story of redemption and revenge set within the Cyberpunk universe. Voice actors include Momoka Terasawa and Valeria Rodriguez as Roman Carax, Akari Kitō and Kimoy Lee as Talia Yang, Kōki Uchiyama and Nazeeh Tarsha as D, and Kentarō Tone and Clancy Brown as Weak Kingsley. Rapper RICO NASTY wrote and performed "YOU CAN’T RUN FROM ME," which appeared in the second teaser trailer. Aniplex of America will release the series on a Blu‑ray Disc set in North America on October 28, while Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures will handle home video distribution in Europe. Sugoi Co will release the series on home video in Australia and New Zealand. A prequel manga titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, created by artist Asano and writer Bartosz Sztybor, launched on the Comic Alive+ website in December 2024 and will be published in seven languages. Dark Horse is publishing the English print edition. The series will stream on Netflix, and the staff noted the focus on a new storyline independent of the first season. The release dates for the Blu‑ray set and home video editions are scheduled for later this year.
