Thermaltake announced a $50 voltage tester named Dr. Power III Pro, designed for use with modern ATX 3.1 power supplies. The device connects to the PSU’s SENSE0 and SENSE1 signals and includes multiple connectors to measure voltage output, allowing users to verify that the supply delivers power within expected parameters.

ATX 3.1, introduced by the PCIe Special Interest Group, adds new power connectors and requires precise voltage regulation. Testing PSU output has become more critical as components draw higher power.

The tester, released on July 3, 2026, provides digital readouts and can be used to diagnose potential issues before they affect other components. Thermaltake described the tool as a way to ensure PSU reliability without disassembling the system. Analysts noted that while the product targets enthusiasts and system builders, it may also be useful for warranty verification and troubleshooting.

The availability of a dedicated tester reflects growing attention to power delivery quality as hardware power demands increase.
