The Enhanced Modular Chipping System, introduced by APR, added four separate engine maps and a processor that can switch between them based on conditions such as fuel type or driver input. Modern ECUs now require hundreds of parameter adjustments to maintain factory protections, with some calibrations involving more than 400 changes for models such as the 2022 Volkswagen GTI and the Porsche 911 Carrera.
