ASUS announced the ROG Raikiri II Pro PC controller, a high‑end device aimed at PC gamers. The controller includes hot‑swappable TMR joysticks, a magnetic faceplate, a low‑latency 8K polling rate, and up to 79 hours of battery life when operating at a 1000 Hz refresh rate. It offers four rear buttons, two bumper buttons and four face buttons that can be customized, as well as dual‑mode triggers that switch between TMR and micro‑switch mechanisms.
The most distinctive element is a full‑colour panel on the front of the controller, similar to the PlayStation 5 touchpad. The panel can display game profiles, button remapping options, lighting effects, vibration intensity, animations and calibration data, according to the company.
While console manufacturers typically limit third‑party controller designs, PC‑focused peripheral makers have more latitude to incorporate advanced features such as interchangeable components and high‑refresh polling rates.
Accessories supplied with the unit include a dedicated charging case, a charging stand, rear button cover plates, two additional TMR modules and two interchangeable joystick caps—one concave and one convex. ASUS has not disclosed a retail price, but the array of features suggests a premium price point.
The company has not indicated a release date, and it remains unclear whether the full‑colour display will provide measurable benefits beyond customization.
