Those who hate you don't win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself." Platner said his decision was based on the need to focus on other priorities and that he would not continue to pursue the race. The suspension leaves the Democratic primary in Maine with several other candidates still in the contest. The party will now select a new nominee to challenge the incumbent in the November election.
