Count Binface, a self-described intergalactic space warrior and leader of the Recyclons from planet Sigma IX, has taken part in multiple UK electoral contests since 2017, receiving vote totals ranging from 69 to 92,896. In 2017 he campaigned under the name Lord Buckethead against Prime Minister Theresa May, a contest that attracted media attention. In 2018 he said he respawned as Count Binface to challenge Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the 2019 general election, where he received 69 votes. In 2021 he said he earned 92,896 votes, including 24,775 first‑choice votes, in the London mayoral race, placing ninth among 20 candidates, a result he said set a record for an alien candidate. In 2023 he said he finished eighth in the Uxbridge and South Ruislip by‑election with 190 votes, a 275% increase from 2019, and again defeated Piers Corbyn and UKIP. His platform has included calls for justice, lasers, the television series Lovejoy, affordable croissants, and the revival of Ceefax. In 2024 he said he ran for London mayor again, receiving 24,260 votes and defeating Britain First, and later contested the general election in Richmond and Northallerton, where he said he earned 308 votes, which he described as a moral victory. He also said he appeared in the television series Industry (season four, episode two), where his fictional character received 309 votes in a fictional Wakefield constituency. He continues to seek public office in future elections.
