Telepathic Instruments will begin taking orders for the Orchid synthesizer on May 11 at a price of $649, and a limited edition clear Arctic model will be offered at $699 for 3,000 units.

The Orchid, co‑designed with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, was introduced to emulate the chord organs popular in mid‑20th‑century homes. It lets musicians play complex chord progressions without extensive theory.

The original Orchid had been out of stock for several months. Telepathic Instruments expects the new batch to remain available indefinitely. The Arctic variant, announced after a correction to the earlier release date, will be sold on a first‑come, first‑served basis to those who signed up for the waitlist.

In addition, the company is launching Pistil, a plug‑in version of the Orchid engine priced at $99 that can be used inside a digital audio workstation and also control the physical Orchid.

The limited availability of the Arctic model may influence purchase timing, and Telepathic Instruments has not disclosed plans for future production runs.
