Bandai Namco announced that the Super Limit‑Breaking NEO DLC for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will add more than 30 playable characters, four new stages, and a solo mode called Limit Breaker Journey, with the update launching next week on all platforms. The game, released earlier, already featured an extensive roster, and earlier DLC packs introduced smaller groups of characters. Producer Jun Furutani outlined the new content in a video, stating that Limit Breaker Journey lets players develop a character through battles, earn experience from tougher opponents, equip Battle Art, and train for stat boosts before using the character in player matches or offline battles. The DLC includes 33 new fighters such as Super Saiyan Bardock, King Vegeta, Grandpa Gohan, Supreme Kai, General Tao, Super Android 17, Uub, Demon King Piccolo, and Young Goku, none of which appeared in previous Budokai Tenkaichi titles. It also adds four Episode Battles, new Extra Battles, and four all‑new stages, plus three variations of existing stages. A free update simultaneously introduces two battle mechanics: Sparking! Boost, which consumes additional Skill Stock for a temporary attack buff, and Chain Blast, which enables switching in an ally mid‑combo for follow‑up damage. The announcement raises a question about the price of the expansion, as Bandai Namco has not yet disclosed cost details.
