NASA astronaut Chris Williams and Russian cosmonauts Sergey Kud‑Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev landed in Kazakhstan on July 26, 2026 after 241 days aboard the International Space Station.
The crew undocked from the station at 3:03 am ET and touched down at 6:27 am ET, completing a mission that began in November 2025. Williams, who flew his first spaceflight, conducted two spacewalks and performed experiments on cancer treatment research and in‑space manufacturing. He was replaced by NASA astronaut Anil Menon and cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, who arrived on Soyuz MS‑29 on July 14.
Medical teams attended the three astronauts within half an hour of landing. Each crew member received a matryoshka doll bearing their likeness as a traditional welcome gift. During a change‑of‑command ceremony on July 25, Kud‑Sverchkov handed the station’s ceremonial key to NASA astronaut Jessica Meir, who now commands the ISS and leads Crew‑12, which includes Jack Hathaway, Sophie Adenot and Andrey Fedyaev.
The ISS remains under Meir’s command as the new crew continues scientific operations; the next crew rotation is scheduled for later this year.
