Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will receive two free costumes and performance upgrades for PS5 and PS5 Pro this week, ahead of the September 15 launch of its Wolverine single-player game.

Insomniac Games announced the updates, noting that the titles will be added to the game's costume selection screen after a scheduled update.

The new content includes a cel-shaded outfit with bold colors and a larger spider emblem on the chest, described as having an anime-inspired aesthetic, and a "Brand New Day" costume that uses subtle texture and colors referencing the classic comics and animated series.

Both costumes will be available at no cost.

The update also introduces Enhanced PSSR support on PS5 Pro, delivering a 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with advanced lighting technologies, and adds a Power Saver mode to extend battery life.

Unlike the previous Spider-Man release, this title has not received post-launch expansions, and Insomniac has shifted development focus to Marvel's Wolverine, a separate single-player experience.

The company said the visual and performance improvements aim to enhance the overall experience while providing players with additional costume choices.

The Wolverine game is set to launch on September 15 for PS5, expanding the studio's Marvel portfolio.
