Ryūto's light novel series The Faceless Mercenary Wants to Settle Down will be adapted into a manga in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan, with the first issue scheduled for release on August 25.
The series began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in July 2024 and moved to the Kakuyomu website in August 2024; Kadokawa began publishing the novels with illustrations by Heiro in July 2025. A television anime adaptation of the series is slated to premiere in October. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the light novel series and will release the first volume digitally on October 27 under its Airship imprint.
Daichi Matsuse, who has illustrated works such as Goblin Slayer: A Day in the Life and Re:ZERO -Starting Life In Another World- Chapter 1, is drawing the manga. The story follows mercenary Glenn, who after retiring from combat finds a farm on a distant planet and must defend his new home from threats, including the harassment of a neighbor. Seven Seas Entertainment said the narrative describes Glenn's transition from soldier to farmer, highlighting his ability to detect danger and his use of cybernetic combat when necessary. The manga adaptation will run in Monthly Big Gangan, continuing the series' expansion across multiple media formats.
The upcoming manga issue will launch the series' visual adaptation, and the television anime is scheduled to debut later this year.
