Xbox announced a lineup of 25 games for Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, taking place from August 26 to August 30. The company will present the first live gameplay of Fable, a reboot announced in 2020 and scheduled for release on February 23, 2027, through a combat demonstration. Alien Isolation 2, announced in June and developed by Creative Assembly, will feature a playable demo at the convention. RGG Studios’ Stranger Than Heaven will also have a demo showcasing its combat system across multiple Japanese cities and eras.
Gamescom is the world’s largest game convention by attendance, drawing over 300,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors in the previous year. Microsoft is currently reducing its workforce by more than 3,000 employees during the 2026 fiscal year and is seeking positive public relations.
The Microsoft booth will host 140 gaming stations. In addition to the featured titles, the booth will display unreleased games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Gears of War: E‑Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, Metro 2039, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, and Valor Mortis.
The demos will provide early insight into upcoming releases, and Microsoft has not announced the final schedule for the presentations.
