Lenovo Premium Care performed a repair on a Lenovo Legion 7i laptop equipped with an RTX 4090 GPU.

The customer said the machine failed to boot after the service.

Liquid metal thermal compounds are used to improve heat transfer in high‑performance hardware but can leak if mishandled, especially in portable devices.

The owner, a Reddit user identified as oza1, reported two additional repair attempts by Lenovo staff that did not resolve the issue.

Lenovo declined a replacement unit and refused a full refund, directing the customer to the retailer Sharaf DG, which offered store credit instead of cash.

The original Premium Care warranty remains active until August 31, 2028.

The case illustrates challenges consumers face when high‑end hardware repairs result in damage and when manufacturers do not provide compensation.
