Apple and OpenAI are scheduled to appear in court in a civil lawsuit alleging that OpenAI used Apple trade secrets to develop an artificial intelligence product. Apple asked the court to prohibit former employees from disclosing confidential information to OpenAI and to prevent the company from creating an AI device that incorporates Apple technology. OpenAI denied any wrongdoing and requested that the judge dismiss the complaint without disrupting its operations. In a blog post titled "Apple's getting this wrong," OpenAI called the legal action sad and said Apple mistakenly identified some employee names. The company added that it does not consider its trade secrets to be at risk from Apple.
