Circle announced that its USDC stablecoin and Cross‑Chain Transfer Protocol are now available on X Layer, OKX’s Ethereum layer‑2 network. The integration lets Ethereum‑compatible applications run on X Layer with minimal changes, supporting payments, DeFi lending and borrowing, trading and cross‑chain transfers. Eligible businesses can also use Circle Mint to provide on‑ and off‑ramps for USDC.
OKX processed more than $975 million in spot trading volume over the past 24 hours, ranking it fourth by volume among crypto exchanges, according to CoinMarketCap. USDC is the second‑largest stablecoin by market capitalization.
The CCTP mechanism burns tokens on the source chain and mints an equivalent amount on the destination chain, enabling transfers between X Layer and other supported blockchains.
The expansion broadens USDC’s availability within the OKX ecosystem and may increase liquidity for its users.
