Iran's Missing Persons Committee of the Armed Forces General Staff said Qatar was holding three pilots whose aircraft were downed in March, a claim that Qatar denied. Qatar's foreign ministry said the pilots had been shot down and that search and rescue teams had recovered the remains of one, rejecting the allegation that they were being held. A letter from Iran to the International Committee of the Red Cross requested assistance, stating that a fourth pilot was killed while targeting a military base in Qatar; Qatar has not responded to a request to visit the site.

The United Arab Emirates reported that Iran attacked one of its vessels while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, with no injuries reported, marking the third such attack on an ADNOC‑owned ship in the past week. The UAE called on Iran to stop the attacks, describing them as unprovoked.

Yemeni military officials said Houthi rebels attacked the Red Sea port of Mokha, which is under the control of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, killing three people, including two marines, and halting port operations. The group fired six ballistic missiles, continuing a series of strikes on government‑held areas and neighboring Saudi Arabia.

Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least 11 people on Saturday. The Health Ministry reported that one strike hit a home in the village of Ansar, killing seven people, including three children, and wounding two; a second strike in Deir al‑Zahrani killed four and wounded 17. Israeli military statements said the strikes targeted a Hezbollah battalion commander and several other militants, alleging that the commander used family members as human shields, a claim that was contested. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said three Israeli soldiers were seriously injured.

The incidents occur amid a broader conflict that began in late February, involving Iran, Israel, and regional actors. Qatar, a neutral mediator, has been involved in efforts to manage the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway through which a large share of global oil and gas passes. Talks between the United States and Iran have stalled, while Iran is in discussions with Oman about managing the strait, which has been considered an international waterway.
