Lego announced its largest Hubble Space Telescope model, a 1,252‑piece set measuring 32 cm tall, 38 cm long with the aperture door open and 38 cm wide, and recommended for builders aged 18 and older. The set is part of the company’s Icons range and follows two earlier, smaller Hubble models that are now retired. According to Lego, the model includes a single astronaut minifigure, a stand featuring Hubble imagery, and a plaque listing the dates of Space Shuttle servicing missions. It also contains representations of the telescope’s gyroscopes, primary and secondary mirrors, and other components, along with posable solar arrays and an opening aperture door. Lego did not provide replacement instruments for the servicing missions. The model commemorates Hubble’s 35th anniversary with a “35” decal on the back of the astronaut minifigure. The actual Hubble Space Telescope continues to orbit Earth but is expected to be decommissioned in the coming years. The set is designed as a collectible for enthusiasts and is expected to remain available until physical damage or a redesign leads to its removal.
