The Dungeon Crawler Carl books, a LitRPG series, have seen increased popularity following the release of an audiobook narrated by Jeff Hays, which has outperformed print and digital sales. Hays is confirmed to voice the character Princess Donut, and the production has indicated that the show will rely on CGI to depict the series’ dungeon environments.

Dinniman commented during a convention interview that casting Hays would be beneficial, noting the strong association between the narrator’s voice and the characters. No additional casting details have been released.
