Star Wars: Smuggler's Gambit, a Fortnite experience that connects to Disney's Smuggler's Run attraction, will be released on August 16. The project links a MyDisney account to Fortnite, allowing players to continue the ride experience in a multiplayer online setting. Players can also scan a QR code to link their Epic Games and Disney accounts, unlocking a special feature on the Smuggler's Run ride at Disney theme parks. The ride, located in Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, is a motion‑simulator where up to six players assume roles as pilot, gunner, or engineer while collectively piloting the Millennium Falcon. In Fortnite, the game expands this concept with missions such as The Imperial Patrol, The Pirate Raid, The Pirate Hunt, The Heist, and The Reverse Robbery. Three player classes—pilot, gunner, and engineer—offer distinct abilities, including scanner detection, droid support, and shield deployment. Cooperation is recommended for higher difficulty levels, and stormtrooper enemies and planetary beasts appear during missions. The game will be available on Fortnite starting August 16. Disney has indicated interest in extending theme park experiences beyond the parks, and future cross‑promotional content is possible.
