Developers have submitted a feature request asking the Claude Code team to support the AGENTS.md specification. The proposal, filed as an issue on the GitHub repository, argues that the current CLAUDE.md documentation may hinder collaboration with developers who use other agents. The request points to the publicly available AGENTS.md file at agents.md as a unified format for describing codebases. A response from the project maintainers has not yet been posted.
