Embark Studios announced that all future Arc Raiders Expeditions will be postponed until early 2027, and that the fifth Expedition, scheduled for September 8–29, will be the last before the pause. Weekly Trials will also be suspended from September 22 to October 8, 2026. Expeditions are a late‑game resetting mechanic introduced in October 2025 that allow players to restart progress while retaining selected items. In a post on the Arc Raiders website, Embark said the pause is intended to enable major improvements to address player pain points such as short departure windows, reward structure, and accessibility for new players. The company confirmed that players who have completed all Expeditions will receive the Zenith outfit, and that partially completed Caravans will be converted to Ermal Vouchers. Consecutive buffs will remain active during the pause. Several players expressed disappointment on public forums, noting that removing the progression system is a risky choice. One player said they have not played the game in months and doubt an October surprise will materialize, while another indicated they will wait until after the October 8 update. Arc Raiders reported 16 million sales in May, and IGN gave the game a 9/10 rating, praising its polished gunplay and grind. Embark said additional details about the upcoming changes will be shared in September, and the company plans to resume Expeditions in early 2027 with revised systems.
