Genki announced a new Manta controller that includes a 2.9‑inch LCD screen positioned at the bottom of the device. The controller supports profile changes, input mapping, testing and connection verification. While in use, users can monitor connection status, polling rate and battery level, and adjust settings. Kickstarter backers can purchase the early‑bird version for $189, with a planned retail price of $279. The controller will be compatible with PC, Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. The device offers adjustable trigger travel, drift‑resistant analog sticks, maglev haptic feedback using linear magnetic ram motors, and Pulse Buttons that detect travel without electrical contact. It houses a 2,600 mAh battery and includes a button to switch to keyboard‑and‑mouse mode. Genki says the ergonomic design mitigates the controller’s larger size. MantaOS runs on a Raspberry Pi RP2350 microcontroller and stores profiles, tuning data, connection settings, macros and custom applications, positioning the unit as an all‑in‑one device for multiple game genres. Genki will showcase the controller at Gamescom, PAX West and the Tokyo Game Show. Valve recently introduced the Steam Controller, priced at $100, as another alternative in the market.
